There once was a time when a mother and father had the right, under the Constitution of the United States, to decide how and where they wanted to educate their children. If Judge Walter Croskey's rogue ruling is upheld, that day will be gone in California.
If those who care about a parent's right to choose do not respond aggressively to overturn this offensive ruling, criminal charges could be enforced on California parents who homeschool their children and force them to send their children to secular institutions provided by the state of California or pay for a private education, while the children could be labeled as truants.
The fundamental truths:
Judges can not make laws
Judges must be impartial and unbiased
This ruling infringes on the rights of children and families
This ruling minimizes the importance of religious convictions
Children are the responsibility of their parents and not the property of the state
This issue hits home with more than just the 160,000 homeschooling children throughout California -- it could deprive every American of an inalienable right guaranteed to them upon birth. It could strip every American parent of their right to provide the highest quality of education available to their children. It will state that every young citizen must be indoctrinated into the secular humanistic beliefs expressed in most public schools, regardless of their needs, wants or desires.
Our goal is to educate the general public and ask people to get involved. Sign petitions, write to your state congress representative, learn more about this issue, and stand up for the freedom you were born with - regardless if you're a homeschooler or not!
Join hundreds of thousands who share this high regard for freedom by signing this petition and become an active participant in the fight our forefathers started to ensure the rights and freedoms of every American.
